2. Conserving and Harvesting Rainwater: Project Neera focuses on conserving and harvesting rainwater through techniques like rooftop rainwater harvesting, check dams, and percolation tanks, ensuring villages have access to stored water during drought periods.
3. Ensuring Self-Reliance during Drought Periods: By providing access to stored rainwater for drinking, agriculture, and sanitation purposes, the initiative ensures villages can remain self-reliant even during droughts, mitigating the impact of water scarcity.
4. Promoting Sustainable Development: Project Neera promotes sustainable development and environmental conservation by reducing dependence on external water sources and encouraging communities to manage their water resources efficiently, leading to long-term resilience and prosperity.

Quenching Thirst, Uplifting Lives: A Triumph Over Water Scarcity
In collaboration with Shri Shani Dham Trust, the U & N Foundation embarked on a mission under the "Neera" initiative to address the acute water scarcity in villages in Rajasthan grappling with unhygienic water sources. Nestled in an area devoid of nearby rivers or ponds, the poor residents faced daily challenges in meeting their basic water needs. Whatever little water they had was also not fit for consumption and would result in skin diseases & health deficiencies.
